Sitting in the hot seat, Ruby Singh played ‘KBC 12’ with great patience and confidence. Amitabh Bachchan was also praising his knowledge from time to time.
Achala Satsangi (Motihari, East Champaran, Bihar), who appeared in Season 5, was the first contestant in Kaun Banega Crorepati to win ₹5 Crores. He was a computer instructor in MNREGA earning a meager ₹6000 (roughly $121) per month before his entry to Kaun Banega Crorepati.
The format is similar to other shows in the Millionaire franchise: contestants are asked multiple choice questions and must select the correct answer from four possible choices, and are provided with lifelines that may be used if they are uncertain. Since season 7 in 2013, the top prize has been ₹7 crore.
Manoj Kumar, who originally hails from Srinagar and is now settled in Jammu, wins Rs 1 crore on the third episode of KBC 6. Manoj Kumar, 44, is a northern railway employee.
“I am a content person and my life will not change because of the money. My wife and I have government jobs with decent salaries, and we lead a comfortable life. But then, this is surely a large amount and will act as a major security blanket for our middle-class family,” Raina said. He plans to first build a house with the money and spend the rest on community service.”
The correct answer was Hazza Al Mansouri. Sadly, Vijay did not know the answer to the Rs 1 crore question and decided to quit the show with Rs 50 lakh in hand.
The next contestant to grace the show was Anu Chauhan who answered the FFF in just four seconds. Anu belongs to Chandigarh and is an advocate by profession. She is also a taekwondo player.
Anu who managed to reach to Rs 50 lakh question, took her last lifeline following a question related to filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

After determining the winner of Fastest Finger First, they would join the host in the “Hot Seat” to start answering a series of multiple-choice questions on their way to win the top cash prize as outlined in the table below. Along the way, the contestant is free to walk away from the game with their winnings but if they got a question wrong, they would walk away with nothing unless they correctly answered a milestone question (highlighted in yellow) that would guarantee some winnings.

The selected contestants are then brought to the studio to play Fastest Finger First where they will be asked to arrange four answers into the designated order in the shortest amount of time. In Season 7, contestants would play three questions and the one who answered the most correctly in the shortest amount of time will get selected to sit in the hot seat.

Abhilasha played the game well but got stuck at the 13th question for Rs 25 lakh. By this time, she had exhausted all her lifelines. Unable to answer the question, she decided to quit the show and took home a prize money of Rs 12.5 lakh.
Kaun Banega Crorepati 12 has been one phenomenal season for female contestants. For three consecutive weeks, the audiences got to see three crorepatis and all were women. In its previous seasons, KBC has had 14 winners and not more than two women have won Rs 1 crore prize money in a particular season. In fact, the total number of women crorepatis till season 11 was five.
KBC 12 premiered with Aarti Jagtap on the hot seat and Kuldeep Meniya became the first contestant to win Rs 25 lakh. Padma Shri Phoolbasan Yadav and Renuka Shahane were the first contestants to win Rs 50 lakh on KBC 12’s Karmaveer Special episode. Let’s take a look at the ongoing season’s crorepatis.
Amitabh Bachchan played with multiple contestants on Thursday’s episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 12. The first was the roll-over contestant Tej Bahadur Singh, who went home with prize money of ₹ 50 lakh. The second contestant was 23-year-old Mantosh Kashyap from Chhattisgarh, who works as a peon at the high court and started his career with a tea and samosa stall. Mantosh Kashyap, who still had life-lines left, left the game with ₹ 3.2 lakh after incorrectly answering a question. One of the questions asked to Mantosh Kashyap on the show was about Shoojit Sircar’s movie Gulabo Sitabo, which starred show host Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana.
Sheetal is a radio jockey in Akashvani and is also studying to become a librarian. She was accompanied by her father on the show and has currently won Rs 6,40,000. She is the rollover contestant for the next episode. During the second padav, Sheetal had to answer a question related to a singer which she knew but wasn’t confident about.
It was the Rs 80,000 question. Sheetal opted for the flip-the-question lifeline and thus, chose entertainment as her genre. The new question was indirectly related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s M.S.Dhoni: The Untold Story. It was about Bollywood actress Disha Patani who had made her debut in the Hindi film industry with the 2016 film.
Tej Bahadur Singh
The December 3 episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 12 was highly anticipated. The audiences had been waiting to see if Tej Singh Bahadur manages to answer the question for Rs 1 crore and become the fourth crorepati of this season. However, after playing the game brilliantly, he couldn’t answer the Rs 1 crore question.
Hailing from a farmer family, Tej aspires to be an IAS officer. He opened up about his struggles on the show and also expressed his desire to study further and earn money so that he can give his family a better future. Amitabh Bachchan lauded Tej for his determination and wished him the best.
